They're probably not supposed to but I find that his tusks give him a kind of genial, smiling look. Like Frans he looks best when on a finger, which makes sense. Fulfill your destiny, Fingerfreaks!
I think his nose might actually be a trunk although he gives more of a boar impression than that of an elephant or mammoth. The nostrils definitely say 'pig' to me.
